Winery and Bottling Cellar Hand - NELSON

Join us in the cellar to assist with our winery and bottling teams to help make the equipment runs smoothly, coordinating wine change overs, trouble shooting, repairing and assisting in both winery and bottling areas.

Seifried Estate is a local family-owned winery producing world class wines for domestic and export customers. We have ten company vineyards across the Nelson region, which we manage, harvest and process these grapes from, making and bottling wines at our Appleby winery.

We operate 330 hectares of vineyards, a modern winery, bottling and warehousing/distribution all within the business. It’s a busy place and we rely on great staff with a can-do attitude! Everything from grafting grapes to loading containers for export to more than 20 countries is completed by our wonderful team, ensuring the highest quality at every step.

We are currently seeking experienced staff to join us in the winery and bottling areas; a hands on person to help make the winery tick, with a keen eye for detail they will have experience in all areas of winery work, including running a Pall crossflow, presses and centrifuge. The ideal candidate will have significant mechanical understanding and be able to monitor and determine how processes and machines can be run more efficiently. Simple winery maintenance being a large part of the role, an interest in pneumatics and simple electrics across the winery and bottling line would be helpful.

You would work with our winery and bottling team to help make the winey and bottling line run smoothly, coordinating wine change overs, trouble shooting, repairing and assisting in the winery and bottling.

This is a varied role, requiring a person with previous winery experience with a keen interest in problem solving and mechanics of all things in a winery/bottling environment.

The role involves working with a small team to ensure our wines are produced to a high quality. An eye for detail and a positive attitude is important.

This is a full-time, permanent position at our winery in Appleby. Normal hours would be 7.30 - 4.30pm, however longer hours will be required during peak times. As we are in Appleby, a driver’s license and a reliable car is essential.
