Health and Safety Reform Bill - delayed

The new Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety Michael Woodhouse has signalled that the Health and Safety Reform Bill is now likely to be enacted around September or October next year, rather than April as was previously planned.

This will allow the Government to pass the new law and supporting regulations as a single package.
The new Act will require a new Attitude from employers as for too long there have been serious gaps between what is required and what has been done.  Business owners who leave it until the day before the new law will have left it too late. Those in the know are telling us these changes will be costly to businesses, so start budgeting now. There is much work to be done by many employers.
