Esk Valley’s Senior Winemaker, Gordon says, “I am honoured to become Chairman of this talented group of growers and wine producers. I would like to carry on the work of outgoing Chairman, Tony Bish of Sacred Hill, whose strategic direction and dedication over the last two years has significantly raised the profile of GIMBLETT GRAVELS wines, both in New Zealand and on the international stage.

The past two years have produced 26 trophies and 42 gold medals in domestic and international wine shows, along with top honours at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) with GIMBLETT GRAVELS wines declared New Zealand’s best red and white wines, and acclaim from renowned wine critics all over the world.

Gordon adds, “For GIMBLETT GRAVELS wines to win Best New Zealand Red Wine and Best New Zealand White Wine at the IWC is extremely exciting. We’ve come a long way since the Association’s beginnings in 2001. Through the collective work of our members, the GIMBLETT GRAVELS WINE GROWING DISTRICT has become internationally recognized and acclaimed for consistent production of exceptional quality wines.
