We are looking for a full-time Account Manager to service the Taupo, Rotorua, Turangi, National Park regions but also with scope to travel nationwide. The role also contains some work in store at 114 Spa Road, Taupo so we are looking for the role to be based in Taupo ideally.  

Who are we?

The Merchant of Taupo is a well established leading supplier of beverages in the region and in New Zealand with over 5,000 product lines and hundreds of existing trade customers.

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost you are sales-driven – you love to hunt for new prospects and convert them to customers. You have a keen understanding for the sales process, from Lead acquisition to lead conversion. You also have a desire to nurture relationships with existing clients.

You are both passionate and knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Hunt for and grow all manner of trade and private accounts 
  • The potential to create your own marketing events, including client tastings, dinners, tradeshows


Reports directly to the owner of the business.


Waikato mainly, but with scope of nationwide travel.


  • A Hard worker who is a highly-motivated and honest individual with their finger on the pulse and good team player.
  • A strong knowledge of Sales Techniques.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for alcoholic beverages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills utilizing all communication tools, including Face to Face, Phone, Email, Social Media.


We are looking to fulfill this position with a candidate based ideally in Taupo.


A company vehicle, laptop, mobile phone and expense budget will be provided.
