About the Role/Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Laboratory Technician at our Selaks Winery in the beautiful Hawkes Bay, your primary responsibility will be to conduct laboratory analyses, ensuring accurate and reliable results. You will be responsible for compliance with Laboratory Procedures and Quality Systems, ensuring that all testing is performed in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will be crucial in maintaining the consistency and integrity of our products. Additionally, you will be responsible for meticulous record-keeping, ensuring that all data and results are accurately documented and easily accessible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive laboratory analyses to support CBNZA production processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Laboratory Procedures and Quality Systems.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in test results.
  • Provide valuable Quality Assurance services to the Winemaking and Viticulture teams.
  • Meticulously record and document all data and results.
  • Vintrace Database management.

About you

You are an experienced laboratory technician with a minimum of three years' experience in a QC/QA role within a manufacturing plant, winery, or the food and beverage industry and you hold a tertiary level qualification. Your ability to take ownership of problems and provide solutions is backed by your technical experience and competency.

Your extensive experience in laboratory analysis, preferably in the wine industry, has equipped you with a strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality systems. You have demonstrated essential experience and proficiency in the use of the Vintrace Database, FTIR, discrete analyser and preferred experience with NIR, PCR and predictive cold stability testing. You are known for your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Your excellent record-keeping and documentation skills are a testament to your professional approach.

You thrive both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating the ability to multitask and manage your time effectively. Your strong problem-solving and analytical skills set you apart, and you are familiar with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
