Harvest Crew 2024 - Waipara, North Canterbury

We are currently recruiting our 2024 Harvest Crew. Processing premium grapes from multiple regions and multiple varieties on behalf of our clients, you will join a medium-sized winery team in a hands-on role in Cellar operations.

We have positions available as follows:

Experienced Cellar Hands (2 required)

• Minimum of one year vintage experience (no formal training required)
• Pay rate between $28 - $32 per hour
• Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
• Perform routine tasks in the cellar and operate winery machinery. These tasks include: grape receival and processing, general juice additions and transfers, barrel filling, racking, floatation, and lees processing of juices
• Supervisory experience, desirable

Cellar Hands (10 required)

• No experience required
• Pay rate between $24 - $27 per hour
• Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
• Perform routine tasks in the cellar and operate wienry machinery. These tasks include: grape receival and processing, general juice additions and transfers, barrel filing, racking, flotation, and lees processing of juices.

Key attributes for all positions will include:

• Excellent time management skills
• Strong work etchic
• Attention to detail
• The right attitude, lots of enthusiasm and energy
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Good command of the English language
• Compliance with quality, hygiene and safety

All roles will commence late-February/early-March and run for 6-16 weeks. During the vintage peak, staff will be expected to work a 12-hour shift, 6 days a week.
