We are looking for a Health & Safety, Sustainability and Wellbeing Coordinator (HSSW) to join our Cloudy Bay team. Reporting to the Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE) Manager, you will be responsible for promoting health, safety and wellbeing and engaging our staff with Cloudy Bay’s health, safety and environmental quality management systems. This transversal role contributes to placing safety, wellbeing and sustainability at the forefront of growth and development across all departments located in Blenheim, Central Otago and Auckland and embraces the core LVMH belief that People make the Difference.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
In coordination with the HSQE Manager:
- Maintaining, developing and monitoring the HSQE system
- Communicating transversally on health, safety and sustainability topics
- Developing relationships at all levels within our multidisciplinary teams and the local industry to facilitate the development of organisational competency and the systems-based approach to management
- Conducting regular safety observations, hazard walks and workplace inspection
- Participating in monthly health & safety committee meetings
- Preparing audit questionnaires and conduct health and safety audits
- Collating and reporting management information for monthly health and safety management review and health and safety committee meetings
- Facilitating incident and accident investigation, workplace hazard identification and risk assessment
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and integration of the health and safety management system, its components and processes
- Preparing and delivering HSQE and Safety Induction trainings
- Assisting in the preparation and management of third-party annual audits for Cloudy Bay’s ISO accreditation to all current HSQE and future management systems
Working closely with the HR Advisor:
- Onboarding and inducting staff
- Liaising with external training organisations to deliver high quality training to develop organisational health and safety competencies
- Delivering and developing Cloudy Bay wellbeing programmes and initiatives
Sustainability and Quality Management
- Preparing and delivering environmental and sustainability training
- Collecting and verifying environmental performance data for the annual LVMH Cascade reporting process
- Conducting regular workplace inspections focusing on environmental hazards and compliance
- Facilitating investigation of environmental non-conformances and root cause analysis
- Preparing audit questionnaires and conduct environmental, quality and food safety audits
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and integration of the environmental and quality management system, their components and processes
In order to succeed in this position, you will have:
- NCEA Level 3 or higher preferred
- A recognised qualification in NZ Workplace Health & Safety or an international equivalent is an asset
- A desire to undertake professional development education is advantageous
- Relevant practical health and safety experience in a vineyard, winery or industrial environment
- An understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and root cause analysis
- Experience and understanding of ISO management systems is an advantage
- Experience in auditing is an advantage
- Computer skills including MS Office suite applications
- A passion for health, safety and wellbeing
- Ability to develop a rapport with a range of different people
- Organization skills
- Integrity and trust
