About This Role
Be part of an iconic Central Otago wine story. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to provide exceptional and personable service to a wide range of customers and to take on managing the restaurant and cellar door when the manager is absent. You will be involved with food service and general restaurant duties under the guidance of the cellar door and restaurant manager.
This role has varying daytime hours, including weekend work and some administrative duties. You will be working with a passionate and energetic team in one of the most beautiful locations in the country.
To thrive in this role you will need to have hospitality experience in restaurants and cellar doors, enjoy serving people and have the ability to quickly build rapport with many different types of visitors.
The successful applicant will need:
- Excellent customer service skills, high energy, and eye for detail under pressure.
- A duty managers certificate is essential.
- Speak fluent English.
- Be a great team player with the flexibility to adapt to multiple and changing tasks.
- Have an appetite to learn and stay up-to-date on brands and wines.
- A comprehensive knowledge of wine is not essential; an enthusiasm for wine and gin and the willingness to learn is.
Applicants will need to be able to work in New Zealand and have a current driver’s licence with their own means of transportation.
