About Us

Established in 1984 on the Martinborough Terrace grape growing area, Te Kairanga is an important part of the Martinborough story. Our land was originally owned by the founding father of Martinborough, John Martin. While this land is steeped in history, our winemaking is very much focused on the future, we produce handcrafted wines from our Estate vineyards and specialise in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We also produce Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Riesling showcasing the abundance of our region. 

Te Kairanga is part of Foley Wines - a collection of iconic New Zealand wineries and brands from New Zealand’s most acclaimed wine regions. Each with a unique story of New Zealand wine to tell. We are proud custodians of Te Kairanga, Martinborough Vineyard, Grove Mill, Vavasour and Mt Difficulty wineries, and world-recognised brands such as Roaring Meg, Russian Jack, Dashwood, and Te Tera.

This is where you come into the picture…

We are looking for Vintage Cellar Hands, Lab Technician and a Cellar Master for the 2023 Harvest.

These positions will commence at the start of March, with peak Harvest shifts typically being 12 hours, 6 days per week. A commitment to reside in the Martinborough area for the duration of Vintage is required.

  • Previous winery experience, and/or wine qualifications would be an advantage, as would a current Forklift licence, but is not essential.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic workers with a practical mind set from other industries are also encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with practical hands-on ability, good communication skills, a team player mentality and a keen sense of humour will be highly regarded. As this is a hands-on role a good degree of physical fitness is needed.
  • We have a small permanent cellar crew, therefore vintage positions would ideally suit candidates with a passionate interest in wine, who work well under pressure, are able to multi-task, and can carry out their duties in a timely and efficient manner.
