Saint Clair Family Estate is proud to be a family-owned winery located in the heart of Marlborough. Our passionate team produce award-winning wines that are recognised and enjoyed all over the world.

We are looking for passionate people to join our team for the 2023 vintage. Based at our winery in Riverlands, just outside Blenheim, these roles are for approx. 6-8 weeks, starting February/March through until the end of harvest, typically late-April.

Applicants must have the flexibility to work shift hours, including 12-hour shifts across 6 days during the peak harvest period. Day or night shifts available.

Experienced Cellar Hands        

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 vintages of cellar experience (or 1 vintage at Saint Clair). You’ll be a motivated team player with a strong work ethic and a solid understanding of all cellar operations. A relevant tertiary qualification would also be an advantage.

The role will be varied, involving all types of winery work including:

  • Cleaning and sanitation of winery and equipment
  • Grape receival, processing and pressing
  • Management of red and white fermentations
  • Filtration
  • Barrel management
  • Finished wine production

Candidates who express an interest in supervising and display strong communication and leadership skills, may have the opportunity to assist with training and overseeing a small cellar team.

Entry Level Cellar Hands           

While some industry experience is preferred, we will consider applicants that demonstrate a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. We are looking for people with sound English language skills, both verbal and written, as well as a good level of physical fitness.

Previous forklift experience and confined space training would be an advantage; however, all successful applicants will receive full in-house training for their role.
