The Company

Located in the heart of Marlborough’s wine region, Marlborough Vintners winery is a well-established wine production and processing company, recognised for providing scalable production facilities for small and large wineries around NZ and the world. We also own multiple vineyards over the region and produce our own quality wines under the Ant Moore Brands, and beer under DNA Brewing.

At MV, we have an amazing ethos and culture and are committed to sustainability though all their four strategic pillars: people, social, economic, and the environment. This can be observed from our four-day working week (outside of vintage), to the only winery industrial scale worm-based wastewater treatment system in NZ, to our commitments to charities, to a drive for sustainability.
Another exciting addition to the winery is the new in-house brewery, and soon to open brand-new offices, cellar door, and restaurant. 
We are now looking for a full-time Cellar Hand to join our dynamic team!

The Role

The cellar team are responsible for completing the full range of daily cellar operations efficiently and to high standards (completed in line with SOP’s), including wine transfers, racking, barrel work, additions, filtration and blending.

Our commitment to quality is important, all team members have a part to play ensuring compliance with quality, hygiene, safety and environmental standards and processes. 

The role is completed over 4-day work weeks outside of our vintage period - Over the harvest period we are all hands on deck and flexibility in hours is essential. You need to be a team player who can work well with others, including a diverse team of seasonal vintage staff.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a team member with a strong work ethic, prepared to take an enthusiastic hands-on approach to the full range of winery operations.

Applicants will require good attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and strong interpersonal and team skills.
You’ll be able to undertake all cellar work in a timely manner, develop sound knowledge and proficiency of all cellar equipment and machinery, and assist training new staff members during our harvest period.

Experience in this role is hugely desired and a passion for wine helps too!
