Babich Wines is an internationally-renowned, family-owned wine company. We have been making wine for over 100 years, producing award-winning wines from our vineyards in Auckland, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough.

We are looking for an experienced Cellar Hand to join the team at our Marlborough winery on a permanent basis. Working with us, you will build on your experience, using modern winemaking techniques in our state-of-the-art 9,000T capacity winery. This eight year old winery boasts some of the most current technologies in wine production.

The role will entail performing general cellar work during the year, maintaining the hygiene of the cellar and working safely. There will be longer hours required and supervising and training of casual staff during the vintage period.

All applicants for the position will demonstrate strong organisational skills, be hard-working, self-motivated and have good communication skills. The position will be hands-on, so a good level of physical fitness is required. 

Candidates will have worked a minimum of 3 years in wineries, with experience in all general cellar operations both during and post-vintage (racking, additions, etc.) and experience supervising causal staff. Ideally, candidates will have experience in medium-to-large sized wineries. Experience running grape receival and larger winemaking equipment such as presses and filters, is preferred.
