An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Machinery Operator to join our permanent team at our Hawkes Bay Vineyards, based in the Gimblett Gravels. This role will work across vineyards, currently totaling 103 hectares. Our main vineyard is in the warm appellation of the Gimblett Gravels, which is an intensively managed, high-density, super-premium site focused on Syrah, Chardonnay and Bordeaux varietals. Our second vineyard focused on Chardonnay and is located on the coastline at Te Awanga.

The main duties of this role include performing and supervising all aspects of machinery operations on the vineyard and working closely with the Vineyard Manager on preparing and implementing the weekly work program. This role will also undertake workshop duties and is an integral part of the management of the maintenance for vineyard machinery. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Passion for the viticulture/horticulture industry
  • Experience operating viticulture and/or horticulture machinery
  • Full driver’s license
  • Previous experience in repairing and maintaining plant and equipment
  • Relevant qualifications i.e. Growsafe, Approved Handlers and HT would be an advantage
