Matahiwi Estate produces premium wines in the Northern Wairarapa, specializing in cool climate varietals, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Syrah.
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Harvest Cellar Hands
We are looking for fun, enthusiastic people to join our 2022 Harvest team. These positions will commence early-March, with 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week through the peak of fruit receival and fermentation.
Previous winery experience and/or wine qualifications would be advantageous, but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
Applicants with strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and an eagerness to learn, will suit these positions. Harvest is a busy time, the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and work efficiently, are skills we highly value.
These positions are unique in that we offer diversity in the role, giving you varied day-to-day tasks and allowing you to experience all facets of harvest winemaking. We typically harvest over 1000 tonnes, with fruit sources from Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay and Kapiti Coast.
