Established in 2007 and located in the heart of Marlborough’s famous wine region, Marlborough Vintners consists of contract wine processing, vineyards and vineyard contracting, a recently completed brewery and a cellar door under construction.
Marlborough Vintners has a number of positions available for the right people to work full time for up to 2 years. The role will enable you to gain experience in the practical side of managing vines and growing grapes, as well as working in the winery over vintage and following the wine through fermentation, blending and dispatch and everything in between.
This is an opportunity to work for one company and be involved in all parts of the production process, from vineyard to winery, PLUS work in the brewery and cellar door when required. Depending on your experience you may also work in the winery laboratory, assist the winery maintenance team, or operate vineyard machinery to spray, trim and maintain the vineyards.
In summary, the role will be predominantly vineyard based from July to January, then winery based from February to June. Within these time frames, dependent on your ability, there will be opportunities during times of high workload to work in the brewery, maintenance, laboratory, and cellar door parts of the business.
This is a great way to expand your knowledge and get a broad range of experience working with enthusiastic, knowledgeable people.
Full training will be provided for all roles with Health and Safety being a top priority.
This role will suit you if you are motivated, physically fit, and flexible when required. Motivated, high achievers with initiative may be promoted to Supervisor or Team Leader positions. Previous winery experience is highly-desired.
