Marlborough, Hawke's Bay, Gisborne
Company: Indevin Ltd
Uploaded: 05 October 2021
Closes: 06 January 2022
We need help with 2022 Vintage in Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough! We’re looking for a number of team members to help us during our busiest period, so we can keep making delicious wine for NZ and the world.
We might be a leader in the New Zealand Wine Industry but that’s not what makes us who we are. Our people are our winning formula; the secret sauce; the kiwifruit to our pavlova (yum). From our vineyard and winery teams, who work together to make sure our wine is outstanding; to our sales and admin teams, who keep everything running behind the scenes - our people are who we are.
Dates & Shift Details
Vintage is our busiest time of the year! We work hard to get all the grapes in and processed into wine so we can get it out the door to NZ and international shelves.
Typically, our vintages run from:
Gisborne & Hawke’s Bay: Mid-February to late-March
Marlborough: Late-February to mid-April
Because of the nature of our business, our vintage dates might change slightly, but we will always keep you up-to-date with the latest information as we get it.
Ready to get stuck in? We need people with a can-do, will-do attitude, motivation and willingness to learn. You need to be physically fit and reliable, as you’ll be working in a very fast-paced environment with other highly-motivated team members. Experience in a winery is an advantage, but we’ll give you all the training you need to be successful.
This role involves a fair amount of manual labour and concentration, but you will be working with the same team every day, so if that appeals to you, you’ll love this role! Our team usually become very close knit over vintage and you’ll enjoy the benefits of getting to work in a fun team environment.
Cellar Supervisors/Team Leaders
Have experience as a Cellar Team Leader? Maybe you’ve supervised a team in agriculture or manufacturing? Or maybe you’re a sports team captain? Whatever the experience, we can train you in all things winery and cellar related!
Working a winery vintage is not an easy task - we work long hours, and it’s an extremely fast-paced environment. Everyone needs to stay on task, on time and work together – that’s where your leadership skills come in. We’re looking for someone who can get the best out of their team and motivate them to achieve. If you have strong communication skills, are great at building motivation and love a challenge, get in touch with us today!
Do you have forklift experience? Maybe experience with a loader/digger? Or perhaps as a port worker? If you have experience with machinery and can easily get a ‘OSH’ & ‘F’ endorsement, we want to hear from you!
This role ranges from barrel operations and fruit receival, to inward/outward goods and general harvest related tasks – this is a varied role, with the opportunity to get tons of experience across the board.
You’ll have studied or be studying a winemaking or science-related qualification. Ideally, you will also bring experience from a previous Winemaking role, but if you have some knowledge and a passion for winemaking, we can train you with all the skills you need!
In this fast-paced role, you’ll be working closely with our Winemakers, so you’ll get tons of one-on-one experience and on-the-job insight. You’ll need excellent time management and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team – we have A LOT of wine to process.
We might be bragging, but our winery lab is industry-leading, with state-of-the-art technology and a proud team who boast proficiency scores in the top percentile in the country. Our lab has it all, and a dedicated, accurate team is at the core of it.
Ideally you’ll have some lab experience in a previous work place, a university lab or a winery – all we need is someone who is as committed and high-performing as the rest of the team. We work under high pressure and tight deadlines during vintage, so you’ll need to thrive in that environment, work well in a team and be physically fit.
In this role you will be responsible for grape maturity analysis, sampling and testing ferments, among other analysis consistent with industry best practice. We’ll train you to be the best.
Laboratory Sample Runner
If you enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment and have an eye for detail, then joining the Indevin team as a seasonal lab sample runner role is your ticket. This role is split half and half between the laboratory and cellar, so there will be plenty of variety and opportunity to learn different aspects of the business during the exciting harvest period. The laboratory portion of the role involves the collection of samples from throughout the tank farm and their timely delivery to the lab for analysis. This is a physically demanding role that requires covering a lot of ground on foot while carrying 10-15 kg. If you are focused, have high energy and like to keep active – we’d love to hear from you!
Though we are looking for short-term staff, our standards are so high that there is some opportunity for high-achieving crew to join our permanent crew – we can’t let great staff go!
In exchange for your hard work and dedication we are offering:
competitive remuneration package;
