The WZG Wine Cooperative was founded in 1946 and covers an area of 1.900 hectares vineyards. All the winegrowing cooperatives and regional wineries in the Württemberg area – 40 all together – are members of the WZG.
While the winegrowers themselves are responsible for growing the vines according to environmentally-friendly methods, the WZG is in charge of wine production, cultivation and marketing. For this reason the WZG is in a position to present the immense diversity of the wine region Württemberg.
Top quality grape varieties, good sites, deep soils, a mild climate, quality-conscious and hard-working winegrowers in close cooperation with highly qualified cellar masters are the ideal basis for the WZG to produce excellent, prime quality wines. On average the WZG produce 18 million litres of wine per year of which 25% is white wine and 75% red wine.
