Brick Bay is a quality wine producer based in Matakana with a farm to table restaurant and a renowned sculpture park that offers its employees a beautiful work place environment and a great team to be a part of.

We're looking for an all-rounder with a positive and collaborative approach to join us in a unique role encompassing viticulture, farming and more!

Your duties will include:

VINEYARD: Tractor driving, spraying, trimming, mole ploughing, mowing, forklift loading, netting and net removal Vineyard trellis mainterence, replacing posts, wires, clips Hands-on vineyard work, supervision of casual backpackers and other staff pruning, leaf plucking, fruit selection, picking.

FARM: Caring for ewes and lambs, drenching, mustering, lambing, feeding lambs. Firewood cutting with chainsaws, splitting and stacking farm fencing maintenance, gardening, planting, harvesting fruit and nuts, pruning trees, road maintenance.

SCULPTURE TRAIL: Assisting sculpture installation and removal, cleaning sculptures, packaging sculptures, trail maintenance - mowing, strimming, mulching, tree trimming and removal with chainsaw.

LANDSCAPING: Light building work, retaining, working alongside diggers and other machinery, mulching trees and gardens, weeding gardens and garden maintenance, planting, strimming, pond maintenance, concrete mixing and pouring for foundations.

OTHER JOBS: Setting up large christmas light display each year and removal, painting, harvesting and pruning olives, mowing, herbicide spraying, building maintenance and cleaning and so much more!

Skills and Experience Applicants will ideally have:

  • Good communication and record keeping skills
  • Experience in machinery operation in vineyard or orchards
  • Experience spraying – Grow Safe and Approved Handler certified desirable
  • Sound knowledge of horticultural practices
  • Commitment to health and safety
  • Current driver’s licence essential
  • Building/landscaping skills
  • Must be a NZ citizen or resident

A positive attitude, physical fitness, flexibility regarding work hours and your own transport are essential.
