Vineyard Machinery Operator

Man O’ War Vineyards is a unique premium producer located on the shores of Waiheke Island and Ponui Island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. The 2,000-hectare station has 60 hectares of vineyards across 76 separate vineyard sites planted in Cabernet franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc. Our vineyard work is performed to the highest level of detail and that flows into individual hand-crafted batch fermentation in our winery. 

Man O’ War Vineyards is seeking new employees to assist in the daily vineyard operations. The successful applicant will preferably have a minimum of one-year viticultural experience and must have at least two years of proven history in operating tractors, tracked equipment and machinery to high standard. Preference will be given to those who have worked on undulating and steep terrain.

Duties will include:

  • Machinery operations including mowing, spraying, cultivation and trimming in an extremely challenging environment
  • Day-to-day vineyard maintenance, including canopy construction, pruning and trellis maintenance
  • Ability to work unsupervised and in a tight team environment
  • Flexibility to work extra hours to meet operational and seasonal needs

The successful applicant must have your own reliable transport and reside (relocate) on Waiheke Island.
