Closes: 05 December 2020
Wine Marlborough represents the interests of all wine companies and grape growers in Marlborough and is right at the centre of the Marlborough's incredibly successful wine industry. Marlborough contributes approximately 80 percent of New Zealand's nearly $2 billion in exports and produces about the same share of New Zealand's wine production. Our goal is ambitious and is that ‘Marlborough will be the world’s greatest wine region’.
The Advocacy Manager role is a pivotal one for Marlborough’s wine industry and touches many parts of the winemaking cycle from forecasting needs in labour, educating members through workshops, making regulation easier to understand, working on the wellbeing of our workforce and celebrating many of the things this world class industry does.
Alongside this will be work on policies and policy proposals that affect the wine industry at a regional level. The role will support work done at the national wine body level where relevant. Experience at a strategic level is required to prove you can make an impact and that commercial objectives are met. Working in a team with a wide range of activities means that you will be able to be involved in other work we do, particularly in the events area. This will help you build a network and interface with our members. We are respected by our members and have a great workplace culture and board of directors made up of Marlborough wine industry members that guide our outputs.
Your skills will reflect the above and you will have:
- The ability to achieve at a strategic level
- Experience working with, or in, central or local government or similar body
- Direct experience working with and developing plans for groups of stakeholders
- Understanding of workforce planning and attraction strategies
- Experienced in interpreting policy or submitting on proposed policies
- The desire to work as part of a small but influential team representing members
- Ability to assume responsibility and lead projects
