We are now accepting applications from fit and motivated individuals wanting to join our small and passionate winemaking team for vintage 2021. Vintage is the epitome of teamwork, providing the ultimate mash up of hard work and fun and Whitehaven prides itself on providing a fantastic working and learning environment for all involved.
Harvest starts early March and runs for 8 weeks, with around 3 weeks of shift work operating 12-hours a day, 6/7 days per week. Training will be provided for all positions and during the shift work period a hot meal is provided daily.
For some positions we may require you to start earlier than March and to help provide support for at least two months after the harvest period ends. All positions are full-time, fixed term.
Experienced Vintage Cellar Hands
Experienced Vintage Cellar Hands with a minimum of three vintages experience and/or level 7 tertiary qualifications in winemaking we are looking for you! Having a proven track record working in a medium-to-large winery and excellent communication skills will help to land you the role.
Vintage Cellar Hands
Enthusiastic individuals with one year’s vintage experience or a keen interest in the wine industry, we are looking for you! While training will be provided, preference will be shown to those with at least one prior vintage and/or forklift experience.
Vintage Laboratory assistant
If you have the ability to multi-task, we are looking for you! The role consists of processing and analysing winery samples at all stages using equipment such as Autotitrator, DMA, Alcolyzer, BioSystems Y15. Communication forms a key part of this role. Prior laboratory or analytical experience will be highly regarded, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Ideally you will have:
- A team player attitude and great sense of humour
- At least one prior vintage experience or an interest in the wine industry
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- A good level of fitness
- A strong safety focus
- The ability to lawfully work in New Zealand or obtain the right to lawfully work in New Zealand
