Babich Wines is an internationally-renowned, family-owned wine company. We have been making wine for over 100 years, producing wines from our vineyards in Auckland, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough.
We are currently looking for people of all levels of experience to work as a part of our Marlborough team in a few different positions. All applicants for the below will demonstrate strong organisational skills, be hard-working and have good communication skills. The positions will all be hands-on, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
Training will be provided in all our operations and Health and Safety procedures.
Senior vintage Cellar Hands
These positions will involve work in both our Marlborough winery and vineyards. Prior to the harvest, senior vintage cellar hands will assist with the training of the vintage cellar hands in our procedures and practices. The senior cellar hands will assist with the supervision of vintage cellar hands during the harvest period.
These will be fixed-term positions starting from early-January until the end of Harvest 2021. These positions may go on beyond the end of harvest for the right candidates. Applicants will have a minimum of 3 vintages experience and a tertiary level qualification (level 7 or over) or have a minimum of 5 vintages experience. The ideal applicants will have experience working in medium-sized or large-sized wineries.
Experienced vintage Cellar Hands
These positions will involve work in both our Marlborough winery and vineyards. These will be fixed term positions starting from early January until the end of Harvest 2021. These positions may go on beyond the end of harvest for the right candidates. Applicants will have a minimum of 1 - 2 vintages experience.
The ideal candidates will have experience working in medium-sized or large-sized wineries. Vineyard and machinery experience is also preferred.
Vintage Cellar Hands
These are entry-level positions working at our Marlborough winery. No experience is required for these positions, but practical capability will be looked upon favourably.
These positions will be fixed-term, starting in early-March and finishing at the end of harvest.
Vintage Lab Technicians
These positions will involve working in the lab at our Marlborough winery. These will be fixed-term positions starting in mid-February until the end of Harvest 2021. These positions may go on beyond harvest for the right candidates. Applicants will have some prior lab experience, preferably in a medium-sized or large-sized winery.
You will gain experience with modern Winemaking techniques in our state-of-the-art 7,500T capacity winery. This seven year old winery boasts some of the most current technologies in wine production. We produce award-winning wines including; Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Rosé, Gruener Veltliner and Albarinio.
We utilise various winemaking styles to create a wide range of wines from single vineyard and reserve wines, to larger commercial blends and 100% organic certified wines from our own organic vineyard.
We provide a fun, friendly and safe team environment for you to work in. We can arrange accommodation, transport to and from the winery, and help with Visa applications, if required. During 12-hour shifts a hot meal and fresh fruit is provided to keep you energised.
