Craggy Range is a leading family-owned New Zealand winery, established in 1999 and based in the beautiful region of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. We are advertising an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic and talented Vineyard Manager to oversee our Hawke’s Bay vineyards.
This role will manage our established vineyards, totalling 103 hectares. Our main vineyard is in the warm appellation of the Gimblett Gravels, which is an intensively managed, high density, super-premium site focused on Syrah, Chardonnay and Bordeaux varietals. Our second vineyard focused on Chardonnay and is located on the coastline at Te Awanga.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate management experience in all aspects of vineyard operations, including viticulture, staff, finances, health and safety, and compliance. A tertiary qualification in viticulture is preferred along with experience in contract labour management, machinery operations and irrigation management.
Attributes required for success in this position include:
- Strong discipline in planning and organisational skills
- High level of presentation and communication
- Experience operating general vineyard machinery
- Irrigation knowledge encompassing field work and irrigation scheduling would be desirable.
This hands-on role would suit an experienced manager who enjoys getting involved in multiple facets of a vineyard, demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation and relishes continuous improvement
