Type:Fixed Term

Uploaded: 23 July 2020

Closes: 21 August 2020

Prophet’s Rock is a small, estate-based winery located in Central Otago producing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Chardonnay. At Prophet’s Rock we aim to make wine with a low intervention approach, featuring wild fermentations, low extraction and extended élevage. We believe our wines should represent the vineyards they’re produced from, with a focus on quality and vineyard practices being paramount.

We are looking for people with the relevant experience and a passion for making great wine, to join us for the 2020/2021 growing season leading to the 2021 vintage. The role is varied, and the ability to be flexible is important, vintage staff will get a well-rounded experience with some time in the vineyard, lab and cellar.

Preferably, the candidates will be able to start early November and work through the growing season in the vineyard, then move through to the winery at harvest. The role would typically finish in mid-May 2021. This is a great opportunity to follow the fruit all the way from the vine to the winery.

Candidates should possess a focus on quality and attention to detail. Forklift and/or laboratory experience would be an advantage.

Please only apply if you are currently in New Zealand and hold a valid work visa through until May 2021 or are a NZ Citizen or permanent resident.

The New Zealand border is currently closed to non-New Zealand residents. If the situation changes in the future we may be able to accept international applicants, but this is unlikely for some time.

Closing date for applications is 21 August 2020.
