Pyramid Valley occupies a privileged position amongst New Zealand fine wine producers, having gained a stellar reputation for exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines over the last two decades.
Expansion of our Waikari Estate in North Canterbury has allowed the creation of two new positions in the vineyards. These positions are split, one a focus on viticulture the other on the operational aspects of plant and machinery of these narrow row, intensively planted, biodynamically farmed vineyards. These roles will also have involvement in managing the leased vineyards we have in Waipara. Both will be part of the wider winery team and will report to the Estate Manager and Winemaker.
The vineyard specialist will have some viticultural experience and education in either horticulture or viticulture. This combined with a passion for organic or biodynamic production, love of plants and working with people to create an immaculate vineyard from development through until mature cropping vines. Tasks will include, but not limited to, hands on vine work, training of new vines, canopy management of older vines, disease management, yield predictions
We are looking for people who are passionate about growing naturally-farmed, exceptionally high-quality grapes and being involved in making some of New Zealand’s greatest wines. This is a great opportunity for the right people to become part of a great New Zealand winemaking story. This person will be a team player, organised, clean and tidy with a great eye for detail and a willingness to communicate their thoughts in the appropriate manner.
If you think you have got what it takes, or even if you are not sure and want to give it a shot, get in touch. We embrace people from all walks of life in our team.
If you would like to apply for this role and then please send in your CV and a cover letter.
Only people eligible to work in this country should apply for this position. Please provide evidence of your work visa or citizenship.
