IWC – a little bit about us

We are a family-owned and operated company in the Central Coast of California that focuses on the service side of the wine industry. We have a fleet of portable stainless wine tanks that we rent out to wineries throughout the year, but our main service is “Custom Mobile Pressing”. We have a couple of presses mounted to trailers that act as a mobile juice-and-go station right in the vineyard as the grapes are harvested. These specialized presses give us the ability to receive grapes, weigh them, press off into juice which is then pumped to a tanker to be hauled to the winery.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

As a Pressing Operator’s Assistant, you’ll be helping with most all activities. The average shift includes setting up equipment in the right location in the field. As we receive fruit, we need to weigh it, then pump to the press. After we’re done pressing, we need to unload the press into a dump truck and haul the pomace off to a different location. This process is commonly repeated 2-3 times per shift. At the end of the shift, a thorough cleaning is required to prepare for the coming shift.

What to expect

Flexibility to work additional or irregular hours, including afternoon and night shifts. We will be traveling and working in some of the most notable wine regions on the west coast including the Central Coast, Lodi, and Napa Valley in California as well as the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

What we provide

We are able to provide room and board during the season. All transport for work will be provided as well as all meals while working on the road.

Only people eligible to work in this country should apply for this position. Please provide evidence of your work visa or citizenship.
