Vineyard Manager Marlborough

Babich Wines Ltd is a family-owned company that is celebrating 108 years of wine making this year. We have a winery and eight company vineyards in Marlborough that export wine to over 50 countries. We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to lead our team on a new 180ha vineyard development (2024 & 2025).

Tasks and responsibilities

This is an opportunity for an experienced and capable person to organise, implement and manage the day-to-day activities on the company vineyard under the direction of the Marlborough Area Viticultural Manger. The position requires a strong focus on attention to detail, leadership, and the ability to organise work programmes and implement vineyard operations.

Some of the responsibilities involve:

• Assisting with the development of the vineyard
• Developing a strong reliable team
• Planning, implementing and managing the daily vineyard activities
• Providing administration records & vineyard reports
• Managing the health & safety of staff & contractors

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate practical experience, good computer skills, along with a proven ability to communicate clearly and report across all levels of our business.

We are looking for a high achiever with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, a thorough understanding of viticultural principles and the ability to lead by example.
