As the 'Fourth Most Admired Wine Brand in the World', we are an iconic New Zealand wine company. Set amongst the vines overlooking the Ihumatao Vineyard, our Vineyard Cafe is renowned for serving delicious food and wine, and delivering excellent service to guests in a relaxed atmosphere.
Sadly, we have to bid farewell to our Cafe Manager who has decided to move south to sunny Coromandel, which means a fantastic opportunity has opened up for an energetic, charismatic and well-presented person to join the Villa Maria family and make their mark in this exciting role!
We are looking for someone who is passionate about wine, and passionate about leading and nurturing a driven and vibrant team. You will be responsible for the operational management of the cafe, administration and stock control, but most importantly, you will be a natural at keeping your team motivated and be hands-on with training and developing them.
This is a busy cafe, and we pride ourselves on delivering a memorable experience for each and every one of our guests every time. This is where you will be able to demonstrate your passion for delivering excellent service. You will be someone with an effervescent personality who can easily make guests feel welcomed and at ease, while at the same time, be able to juggle a number of competing demands that is expected of a busy cafe.
To succeed in this role, you also need:
- Two years’ people leader experience in a hospitality environment
- Excellent wine knowledge - we are passionate about wine, and so should you be
- Have an LCQ certificate (a Manager’s Certificate would be ideal)
- Be able to work weekends and flexible hours
